Arizona builds the secondary with Washington CB Trent McDuffie at 23
The Arizona Cardinals started the season as one of the hotter teams in the NFL, but after an injury to All-Pro wide receiver Deandre Hopkins, the team struggled. Even with A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, and Rondale Moore, the offense struggled to move the ball.
Those struggles seem to continue for the Cardinals as they find themselves at a crossroad heading into this off-season. There are rumors that quarterback Kyler Murray is unhappy with the team as he heads into the fourth year of his career. The Cardinals will also need to decide on if they’ll bring back outside linebacker Chandler Jones.
If the team decides not to bring back Jones, then they’ll need to address that position. If they choose to bring back Jones, then they should address the corner position.
Byron Murphy has been a good player, but adding University of Washington corner Trent McDuffie would help the secondary. The University of Washington has produced solid corners over the past few years including Murphy, Raven’s Marcus Peters, Jaguar’s Sydney Jones IV, and now McDuffie.
The Cardinals might have more holes than expected heading into the off-season, but as of right now they’ll need to address the corner position.
