Buffalo reloads its defense with Florida CB Kaiir Elam at 25
The Buffalo Bills were one coin flip away from having a chance at making the AFC Championship game. Instead, the Bills were once again taken out of the playoffs by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs and are still trying to make it back to the Super Bowl since Joe Kelly.
The offensive side of the ball was dynamic yet again in 2021 with quarterback Josh Allen and wide receivers Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, Gabriel Davis, tight end Dawson Knox, and running back Devin Singletary. In fact, the team began to play better once they started running the football more consistently with Singeltary.
However, the defense was torn apart in the AFC Divisional round by the Chiefs. They were desperately missing a cornerback after Tre’davious White tore his ACL midseason.
Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam could come in and be the team’s second corner. Similar to Andrew Booth Jr and Trent McDuffie, Elam is in the second tier of cornerbacks in this draft class.
The Bills are going to need their defense to take a leap if they want to make it to the Super Bowl while Allen is on his rookie deal. Improving the defense would take them one step closer.
