Davante Adams – WR – Green Bay Packers

"“What’s understood don’t gotta be explained” – Lil Wayne"

Davante Adams is set to hit the market this 2022 offseason given that the Green Bay Packers are entering the new calendar year $51 Million Dollars over the cap, Adams stated post season that he wants a contract worth at least $30 Million Dollars per year. Which would be impossible for the Packers to match with their cap situation. They also have other key players who are going out of contract and not to mention they have to deal with Aaron Rodgers negotiations as well.

$30 Million is a ridiculous price tag for any player not named Davante Adams, on top of that the money he’s asking for would most likely cripple or max out most teams cap space not named the Miami Dolphins.

And it’s true, Miami currently has $64.7 Million dollars in cap space and if you compare it to the next team with a true WR need that would be the New York Jets, who currently have $38.6 Million Dollars in cap space.

Davante Adams in 2021:

  • Games played: 16.
  • Receiving Yards: 1,553 (3rd).
  • Receptions: 123 (2nd).
  • Yards After Catch: 633 (4th).
  • Touchdowns: 11 (5th).
  • Coverable by: Nobody.

Davante Adams is a true #1 of #1’s, Miami can afford him but the question would be how Adams feels about transitioning to this type of offense. As well as how Adams feels about going from playing with Aaron Rodgers to playing with Tua Tagovailoa.

For these reasons Miami probably won’t be a favorite for Adams, so for leverage the Miami Dolphins need to give Davante Adams a blank check.
