1. Buffalo Bills

There is plenty of reason to believe that the Bills will be one of the elite teams in 2022, and will remain the Miami Dolphins’ biggest hurdle in winning the AFC East for years to come. There is a new offensive coordinator now that Brian Daboll is gone, but it would be surprising if Josh Allen regresses any because of it.

2. Green Bay Packers

The Packers are ranked this high under the assumption that Aaron Rodgers remains in Green Bay. If he departs, then we’ll be able to knock them down at least five spots. If he stays, then the Dolphins could be looking at their 5th loss in 6 tries against the Packers since 2002.

3. Cincinnati Bengals

The loser of the Super Bowl generally finds themselves struggling the following season. There are now expectations for Joe Burrow and company to live up to, but if he does so, they’ll be one of the toughest teams on Miami’s schedule.

4. San Francisco 49ers

This will be a road matchup featuring a former boss and his young protégé dueling it out. Kyle Shanahan already has to play against Sean McVay, who comes from the same coaching tree, but he can add another familiar face to his matchups for 2022. You can bet that Mike McDaniel already has this game circled.

5. Baltimore Ravens

The biggest win of the Dolphins’ 2021 season came against the Ravens, but it was a rare victory against a Baltimore team that dominated Miami in their other recent matchups. Lamar Jackson is still one of the elite quarterbacks in the league, and should give the Dolphins one of their tougher games of the year.
