11. Chicago Bears

Much to the delight of Bears fans, Matt Nagy is finally out as head coach. Matt Eberflus is in, and he will have his work cut out for him. Chicago has a potentially explosive playmaker in Justin Fields, but he proved to be more dangerous with his feet than with his arm during his rookie season. This will be an away game for the Dolphins, so they will hope that the NFL schedules this one towards the beginning of the season due to the threat of winter weather in Chicago.

12. Detroit Lions

The Lions showed a lot of fight during the 2021 season despite their 3-13-1 record. They endured heartbreaking losses under first-year head coach Dan Campbell, who should be very familiar to Dolphins fans. Campbell is looking to build a tough and gritty team in Detroit, though it may take another year or two before they start seeing real results. Miami needs to capitalize

13. Houston Texans

The Dolphins and the Texans have been linked in peculiar ways over the last couple of years, the latest being the fiasco between former Dolphins coach Brian Flores and the NFL and how it affected Houston’s coaching search. But the Dolphins seem to have gotten over the “Texans Curse” having won two out of the last three matchups. Before that, Miami had never beaten Houston for as long as the latter had existed (0-7).

14. New York Jets

They may not be the worst on this list. In fact, it is likely that they aren’t. But the Jets sucked last year under a rookie head coach and led by a rookie quarterback, and it’s also my list, and I despise the Jets. So there.
