Emmanuel Ogbah has done everything that the Dolphins have asked him to do and he has become a steady productive defensive end and frankly, he should be re-signed immediately.

Ogbah has, as far as we know, not been offered a new deal and there is a lot of speculation that he will test the open market in an effort to maximize his earnings. This would be a very smart move on his part. Get a contract offer and take it back to Miami.

Over the course of the first three “tampering” days starting on the 13th, Ogbah will get a much better idea of what is out there for him and the Dolphins will get a better idea of what his contract should look like.

Could the Dolphins place a franchise tag on Ogbah? They could and if they did it would be in an effort to sign him to a longer term deal. Once Ogbah signs the contract, however, he is guaranteed that money for the 2022 season.

This could play out in a few directions but if you are keeping track at home, it would be very surprising if a move was made on Ogbah prior to the start of the tampering period.

Stay or go? The Dolphins would be very smart to keep him rather than create another hole.
