Michael Palardy will be a free agent after being on a one-year deal. He was erratic throughout the 2021 season and inconsistent. If the Dolphins elect to keep him this year, they should absolutely bring in more competition.

Palardy is not expensive and he isn’t going to draw a ton of interest early in free agency. In fact, he may not draw interest until training camps and mini camps begin. The Dolphins would be smart to let him hit the market and then decide where they want to go.

Of all Miami’s free agents, Palardy really doesn’t have much to offer that can’t be replaced by someone else.

Miami should also consider bringing in competition for Jason Sanders. Sanders is under contract through the 2026 season but last year he was off. Some of that could be because of his rapport with Palardy who served as the holder for those field goals and that is something that could have been a problem for Sanders.

Competition is always good and both positions could do well with some in camp, eventually.

Stay or go? I would let Palardy hit the market and look for another punter.
