It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens with Cordarrelle Patterson. The guy went unheralded to Atlanta, nobody expected a thing out of him and he casually put up outstanding numbers. He had 618 rushing yards along with 548 receiving yards because you know he is a receiver by trade. Patterson also had 11 TDs. An amazing and flat-out fun year it was for Patterson.

The obvious thing is he’s a guy that many Dolphin fans see and say “oh he can be Deebo Samuel. McDaniel did great things with Samuel even had him run the ball. Miami should go get Patterson.” I can easily see why someone would think that. Let it be said that Patterson isn’t Deebo Samuel. I don’t really think another Deebo Samuel is out there.

On the other hand, Patterson plays football that if you squint at him can be confused with Samuel. I think Patterson is a bit more wirey and better on the outside on the edge running the ball where Samuel is built best to run in between the tackles. This is just one man’s opinion mind you.

Both guys are wide-receivers by nature so splitting Patterson out wide won’t change too many things. Again, having guys that you can run or pass with when they’re on the field is huge for the kind of offense I think we will be seeing in September. Patterson allows you to be offensively flexible. I like that.

I’m very curious to see the kind of money that Patterson will command. Will he be looked at as a running back or receiver? Not sure about that. He’s a great football player that I’d love to see lined up everywhere on the Dolphin’s offense. That I’m certain of.
