Phillip Linsday brought back

The path that the new coaching regime takes with the running game will be an interesting one to monitor. Mike McDaniel brings a serious pedigree to offensive schemes, and it will be needed for a team that had an anemic ground attack last season. There will undoubtedly be new faces in the backfield, but there could be a hold-over or two from 2021 as well. One of the options is Phillip Linsday.

The veteran running back was brought on late last season and had a couple of solid performances with limited touches before Duke Johnson came in and stole the show. But the small sample size gave us a look at what Lindsay can bring to the table, and his skill set could be useful for the Miami Dolphins going forward. He excels in pass blocking, something that he proved and spoke about in post game press conferences, and would be a nice safety net for the quarterback. He is a downhill runner with pass catching ability as well.

Lindsay won’t be an option for RB1, but he would make a nice depth piece and perhaps a solid third down back. He would likely be available for an affordable price, and the Dolphins would be smart to at least explore bringing him back as an option.
