Miami Dolphins trade down in post-combine mock NFL Draft

Did I say the Miami Dolphins needed offensive line help? Well they do, and consequently we stay on theme with Boston College.

After using the first round pick that the team received in a deal with the Saints to draft Zion Johnson, the Dolphins then use the other pick received in the deal to take his teammate Alec Lindstrom. The center out of Boston College was one of the best centers in all of college football and is probably the second best center in this draft class behind Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum.

Lindstrom’s older brother Chris is a solid starter for the Atlanta Falcons, meaning he has some knowledge into what it means to be an NFL player. Having his college coach in the building should also help.

In 2021, the Dolphins went with Michael Dieter as the starting center. He was solid, but not the answer at the position. When he went down, the team had a revolving door at the position.

We have seen teams take centers in the draft and they immediately have an impact on teams. Most recently it was Creed Humphrey with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Dolphins will need to improve the offensive line and Johnson and Lindstrom both improve it.
