Miami Dolphins trade down in post-combine mock NFL Draft
By Pablo Rosero
The goal of this off-season is giving Tua Tagovailoa all the weapons and offensive lineman to give him the chance to prove that he is the future of the franchise. If he proves not to be, then this off-season also will be about giving the NEXT Miami Dolphins quarterback a team to come in and win immediately. Mike McDaniel has his work cut out for him.
To this point, in this mock draft, the team has addressed the offensive line and has added a wideout with a high ceiling. The team could stand to add a running back, but it would be tough to pass up on Memphis wide receiver Calvin Austin III.
Memphis has become somewhat of an offensive powerhouse over the past few years. They have sent Antonio Gibson, Tony Pollard, Darrell Henderson and Kenneth Gladwell to the NFL. Next on the list will be Austin.
He proved to be dynamic on tape, even at 5-foot-8, and his 4.32 40-yard dash backed it up. He may not be a superstar player, but with the ball in his hands he can make plays.
The Dolphins will need to reshape their wide receiver room and adding Watson and Austin gives Tagovailoa two more dynamic wideouts to either throw the ball down field or continue to attack the short game.
