Conclusion

To be honest, Kaepernick posting that video that he’s working out and stuff could just be a PR stunt. Who knows? But the only way to find out is to bring him in for a workout.

I do not see any harm in Miami bringing Kaepernick in, working him out, and deciding if he’s for real. If Miami finds out that Kaepernick doesn’t have it, they can simply thank him for his time and wish him well.

But what if his comeback is legit? What if he crushes his workout? Well, then I’m on board with Miami bringing Kaepernick in as a backup quarterback and going from there.

I would still sign another quarterback, too, mainly because if it’s not working and the circus has gotten too big, just move on.

Miami needs one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL this season, and if that’s Kapernick, then they should do it. If Tagovailoa gets hurt again or struggles again, I do not see any harm in trying to see if Kaepernick could revive his career.

So if you asked me, should the Miami Dolphins sign Colin Kaepernick? I would say yes.*

*only if he’s serious about playing, showed he’s improved, is ready to come to work and help the team win, and will support starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
