For the Miami Dolphins, it all starts with the defensive side of the ball

Now that the Dolphins have used their free agency cap to continue to build and strengthen their defense, Mike McDaniel can use his draft assets to focus on his type of game.  I know free agency is not where you want to build your team up, it’s used for adding players that can make an immediate impact, rather than, look at potential for young prospect to emerge.

With the potential trade of X, Miami has positioned itself for three first round selections in 2023.  If Tua isn’t Mike McDaniel quarterback, he and Chris Grier have the ammunition to make a move and select a potential franchise quarterback.  If Tua balls out, then Miami has added riches that can look to support Tua’s game and bring Miami Dolphins offense into the 21st century.  Regardless of what happens, McDaniel has to understand that his best pure asset in Miami is his Defense.  Continue to add to the Defense and make it special. Your strength is the offense and that is why you are here.

McDaniel spent a few season with coach Sean McVay, and McVay broke the norm and traded away draft capital for veteran players that were primed to make a difference.  I’m not sure if this trend will continue, nor, am I asking McDaniel to trade away picks.  The overall goal here is not just to focus on the offense, but strive to achieve more success on defense as that will be unit that will most likely determine the success of the upcoming season.
