Versatility

While we have only been able to enjoy a small sample size, we have seen what Lynn Bowden Jr. can bring to the table. During his rookie season in 2020, Bowden got his opportunity towards the end of the season when the Dolphins’ receiver corps took big injury hits. He played in 44 percent or more offensive snaps over the final five weeks of the season, including 90+ percent in the final three games.

His versatility was on full display, catching 27 of the 35 balls thrown his way, as well as excelling in the running game. He even through a 32 yard pass completion in the final game of the season. Bowden is quick and shifty, and has the ability to make defenders miss. He can be well utilized either while playing as a slot receiver or while lining up in the backfield. During his limited playing time in 2020, the offense was able to get creative with how they used him, often putting him in motion to get him a running head start for an attack. He put up those numbers and achieved what he did in an offense that was otherwise generally stagnant, so it will be very interesting to see what he can do in a new system…
