Tee Higgins

Just a few seasons ago, the Bengals and Dolphins were battling to see who the worse team was. Both teams were putrid, but were eyeing a high draft pick in order to select a franchise changing quarterback. The Dolphins wound up “losing” the battle by winning too many games, and were gifted the 5th overall pick as the Bengals found themselves at the top of the draft board.

Fast-forward a couple of years later, and the Bengals are in the Super Bowl and the Dolphins are still scratching just to get a sniff of the playoffs. It is a lesson in team building, two perfect examples of what to do and what not to do. For fans in Miami, it seems that everywhere we turn, we are reminded that that could have been us if we just played our cards a little differently.

Such is the case with the end of the first round of the 2020 Draft. The Bengals had already selected Joe Burrow and the Dolphins took Tagovailoa, but passing on Tee Higgins (who would get drafted just three picks later) in favor of Igbinoghene is another black eye on Chris Grier’s draft resume.
