Austin Jackson

He is still young and should have some untapped potential still in that big body, but Austin Jackson’s long-term future with the Miami Dolphins is certainly up in the air. Based on his underwhelming performance in his second season in the NFL, it looks as though Jackson will remain on the roster for the 2022 campaign. How he will be used is the question for the coaching staff, and will he respond with competent blocking will be the question he has to answer himself. If he doesn’t, then Jackson could be looking for a new team in 2023.

There is still plenty of time between now and the start of the season, and there could be more roster shuffling even after the draft takes place next month. But as of now, Jackson’s starting spot on the line is certainly in jeopardy, especially with the acquisition of former Cowboys guard Connor Williams. He may be able to scratch his way in to the starting lineup depending on how the coaching staff shuffles the offensive line, but he may be looking at a backup role in 2022. If that is the case, he becomes a pretty solid number two option.
