Bobby Wagner

The Miami Dolphins re-signed all of their linebackers to one year to prove their deals. To be honest, none of them will have the same type of impact that signing Bobby Wagner could bring to Miami.  Miami biggest area for improvement is in their linebacker unit. Besides Jerome Baker, there isn’t an additional element of speed. Wagner brings with him a veteran presence that Miami hasn’t had since Zach Thomas.

Wagner has played against Armstead for years and I don’t know if they are friends, but the Seattle versus New Orleans Saints connection does run deep. I’m sure Armstead could reach out to Wagner and entice him to join.  Everyone knows Wagner is looking for a big pay day, but if that was going to happen, it would have happened by now.  Enter Miami, and I’m hoping Chris Grier can continue his amazing offseason and look to sign Wagner to a year one deal similar to what he did with Brent Grimes a few years back.  You ball out, and then next year, when all my one year contract linebackers are off my cap, let’s negotiate your final contract.

If Wagner is out of scope, then we get our new Cheetah to call upon his former teammate Anthony Hitchens.  Hitchens was released by KC a little while ago, why not team up once again and in South Beach.  Hitchens doesn’t have the same range and ability as Wagner but, it’s a close consolation prize.
