The Miami Dolphins gave up a lot to obtain Tyreek Hill, which means that their NFL draft doesn’t start until the 102nd pick. I think the best player available will be the smart selection.  The majority of day one starters will be off the board by then, but the hope is there could be a player that slips that far.  A lot of mock drafts had Miami focusing on a center, but I’m not sure there is a rookie player that could be better than Michael Dieter in the third round of the draft.

Enter J.C Tretter.  Tretter has been the anchor of the Cleveland Browns run offense for the past four years and guess what, he’s a street free agent.  Also, add in the fact that the Browns run a heavy zone offense, which is pretty much identical to what Mike McDaniel wants to employ and you can’t help but think that this is a move that needs to happen.  Tretter has played in the playoffs and has lead the Browns to amazing accomplishments.  Only downside is that, Tretter is on the wrong side of 30, but this isn’t a long term contract, he would come in and add that veteran presence that was missing all last season.  Add in the fact that Armstead with Tretter could help mentor these young prospects, it’s a match made to happen.

Tretter doesn’t have any connection to Armstead, Hill or X, but if they all reached out to him, even just a twitter message, you have to think he would call his agent for a visit.  If Miami thinks that Dieter can hold the line, then it would still make sense to bring in veteran leadership, and another target to look at is Eric Fisher.
