Jaylen Waddle, WR:

The Miami Dolphins traded back the with the 49ers and then traded up with the Eagles in 2021, for the 6th overall draft pick that ended up being WR Jaylen Waddle. Miami was criticized heavily at first for the ‘odd trade’ by the media, but Waddle would go on to break the rookie record for receiving yards and catches in Dolphins history.

An absolute home-run draft pick, the Dolphins locked up a star young receiver for a very long time. Waddle was Tua Tagovailoa’s security blanket in 2021, and every QB in the NFL needs one. Under an improved offense and more help around him, I’m expecting a monster year 2 from Jaylen Waddle.

With Tyreek Hill drawing up double coverages Waddle is going to be a nightmare matchup, and don’t be surprised if Waddle is often used in the run game, or other unorthodox scenarios with Mike McDaniel’s creativity.

Jaylen Waddle by the numbers, 2021:

  • 138 Targets
  • 104 Catches
  • 1,015 Yards
  • 6 Touchdownds
  • 9.8 Y/C

Jaylen Waddle ran a 4.37 40-Yard dash at the NFL Combine.
