Miami Dolphins: Pre-draft roster predictions by position
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins running back unit needed to be improved and Miami got a lot faster but they also gave themselves tough decisions to make.
There is no question that this is going to be a tough unit for Mike McDaniel to make cuts with. There is a lot of talent and prospective talent but there are only so many roster spots to be had.
Current roster
- Salvon Ahmed
- Myles Gaskin
- Raheem Mostert
- Chase Edmonds
- Gerrid Doaks
- Alec Ingold – FB
- John Lovett – FB
The Dolphins will likely carry 4 running backs and full back into September and that means one of them will be gone, if not more.
Injuries aside, we will just say that this applies to every roster spot going forward, we can assume that Edmonds and Mostert are locks for the Dolphins roster. We can also pencil in Doaks as being a practice squad addition and if the Dolphins do keep four RBs, that would mean Ahmed and Gaskin will take up the last two spots.
That leaves one FB spot and that should go to Ingold with Lovett a candidate for the practice squad as well.
