Miami Dolphins: Pre-draft roster predictions by position
By Brian Miller
Addition and subtraction, the Miami Dolphins bolstered their WR unit but created a big competition for a few spots.
This is going to be a fun off-season but with the talent Miami has at the WR position, the cuts are going to be a lot tougher to make and Mike McDaniel is going to have to make some tough choices. It might very well come down to health.
Current Roster
- Lynn Bowden, Jr.
- Tyreek Hill
- Jaylen Waddle
- DeVonte Dedmon
- Trent Sherfield
- River Cracraft
- Cody Core
- Preston Williams
- Cedrick Wilson, Jr.
Six wide receivers sound about right for the Dolphins to carry into the season. If we stick with six and the four we have as “locks” is correct, Miami will have to make decisions for what could be two spots.
Miami will want to see what Lynn Bowden, Jr. can bring after being injured last season. He is a versatile talent who can run the ball and possibly factor into the offense in a similar type role as Deebo Samuel but he won’t be a starter.
River Cracraft has special teams value but is that enough to keep a roster spot open for him? Of course there is also Preston Williams. If Williams can remain healthy through camp, it will make for an interesting competition between him and Bowden for what could be the final spot but I also think that if Williams can stay healthy, Miami definitely will keep six receivers.
The final two spots should come between Cracraft, Bowden, and Williams.
