The best Miami Dolphins players ever drafted out of “The U”
Lamar Miller
The second pick of the 4th round of the 2012 NFL Draft was originally held by the Indianapolis Colts, but in ended up in the hands of the Dolphins through a series of trades. The final trade in that line was Miami giving up two sixth round picks in order to move up seven slots and draft the local product.
It was a good move for the Dolphins. Lamar Miller was the starting back in Miami for the final three years of his time with the team, and was one of the more underrated Dolphins running backs in recent memory. He started 47 of a possible 48 games over that stretch, and is one of the few Miami running backs that has eclipsed 1,000 yards in a season…ever. He had back-to-back 8 touchdown years in 2014 and 2015, and added three receiving scores over that span as well.
Miller spent just two seasons playing for the University of Miami, going over 1,200 yards during his sophomore season on his way to Second-Team All-ACC honors.
Miller is still technically an active player, though he has bounced around over the latter portion of his career and remains unsigned.
