James Cook fits with Miami’s offensive scheme because of his pass-catching ability.

If there was one main reason I think James Cook needs to be on the Dolphins, it’s his pass-catching ability. Cook is a running back, but this dude can run routes like a wide receiver and catch passes like a receiver too.

In the passing game, Cook reminds me of Alvin Kamara, as he can always find the opening and then make plays once the ball is in his hands. Cook is a player that you love to get the ball to, and since he is such a good receiver, a creative offensive mind like McDaniel will get the most out of him.

At the very least, Cook will be able to make a living in the NFL on 3rd down, catching passes out of the backfield or creating mismatches by being split out wide.

I fully expect Cook to have an immediate impact as a receiver in the NFL, and it would not surprise me to see him catch 50+ passes for 500+ yards in his first season in the NFL.

I do not think he will ever be a 1,000 rushing 1,000 receiving guy like Christian McCaffery, but like Kamara again, he can have 70+ catches every season if needed.
