Despite having 25 potential free agents in 2023, these Miami Dolphins players are the only ones that absolutely should be signed.

By the time March 2023 rolls around, some players will have taken a step forward and some will have fallen back. Some players will play out the 2022 season on a one-year deal and a few of these players may not even be on the roster after training camp.

That being said, these players should still be a part of the Dolphins’ long-term future plans.

Mike Gesicki – We don’t know the situation with Gesicki. This could be a tryout year of sorts for Gesicki in the McDaniel system or simply a way to keep him on the roster for another year under the Franchise Tag. Regardless, Gesicki’s future in 2023 will either be a new deal or he will not be here.

Christian Wilkins – The Dolphins have not yet picked up the 5th-year option for Wilkins but it is expected that they will do so. They also very well could give him an extension. Wilkins has improved each year he has been in the league and there is no reason to believe he won’t this year as well. That sets him up to be a big part of the Dolphins’ future beyond 2022.
