Predicting the first 10 picks in this year’s NFL Draft and a surprise WR
The Giants already addressed their RT issue earlier in this mock, so why not get one of the most interesting players in this draft. At one point in time, Hamilton was projected to be a top 3 pick, since then his underwhelming 40 time and the reluctance of some teams to take a safety too high have made him drop a bit. Despite all of that, Hamilton is a very impactful player who will completely change the complexion of whatever defense he’s inserted into. Joe Schoen comes from Buffalo who happened to have two All-Pro safeties a season ago, which may influence his decision to go get one of his own for his new team.
This may have been the hardest pick to mock in the top 10. I truly have no clue what the Atlanta Falcons are thinking here. I think the offensive line is off the board for them here at #8, but Kayvon Thibodeaux may still be on the board, as well as all of the wide receivers. With Calvin Ridley being suspended indefinitely this off-season, and Russell Gage going to Tampa, you wonder if the Falcons could go receiver here. They gave Marcus Mariota a two-year deal worth $18.75 million this March, and I think he would be the perfect bridge quarterback for Malik Willis. Arthur Smith is one of the brightest young offensive minds in the league and has the ability to get the most out of the extremely talented Willis.
