Miami Dolphins NFL Draft grade compared to the rest of the AFC East
NFL Draft Grade – New York Jets: A+
Let’s not sugar coat it. The New York Jets absolutely killed this draft.
Armed with a treasure chest full of picks, the Jets loaded up on young talent that could potentially change the course and the future of the franchise. New York made four of the first 36 selections, including the 4th and 10th overall, which they used on cornerback Ahmed “Sauce” Gardner and wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
With the 26th pick, the Jets added pass rusher Jermaine Johnson II, a great prospect out of Florida State who some projected to be a top-15 pick. Early in the second round, they drafted arguably the best running back prospect available in the Class of 2022 in Breece Hall.
All players listed have a good shot at being Day 1 starters for New York, and they all have star potential if the Jets are able to play their cards correctly.
But these are still the New York Jets, and the players are still unproven commodities that have yet to play in an NFL game. Much of the rest of the division is stacked with talent, and the Jets are a ways away from competing for the AFC East crown, even if their rookies ball out from the beginning. They are still very much the team that went 4-13 last season, and still have question marks surrounding young quarterback Zach Wilson.
The Jets get an A+ for their draft performance, but they’ll be battling the Patriots for the 3rd and 4th spots in the division.
