The Miami Dolphins did not draft an offensive lineman in the draft but signed a talented player at the tackle position.

Kellen Diesch out of Arizona State was a legit surprise he did not get taken in the NFL Draft and was available to be signed as an undrafted free agent.

The Miami Dolphins did great by picking him up, while he is an older player being a sixth-year senior. His talent was seen on the tape during the 2021 season.

Multiple outlets had Diesch going in the third round. Last season he had three games where he graded 87.8 or higher against Stanford his grade was an insane 95.3.

While he has small arms for a tackle, the Miami Dolphins seem to look past his deficiencies and saw the great footwork he had sliding in pass protection.

This pick-up by the Fins is also a great scheme fit as Diesch may be best suited for a zone scheme. A scheme new head coach Mike McDaniel utilizes.

The Miami Dolphins signed the best tackle in free agency in Terron Armstead. But the issue Armstead has had is staying healthy. Diesch can be a very good depth addition to the tackle position.

We will see if the new revamped Fins offensive line coaching staff can develop Diesch into a viable cog for this offensive line unit.
