Miami Dolphins 2023 Draft Possibility: Quarterback

The two premium first round picks that the Dolphins own in 2023 have been thought of as the “Tagovailoa Backup Plan”, the necessary ammunition in order to acquire a highly-touted draft prospect. The third-year quarterback is facing a make or break season for Miami, and the team will undoubtedly look to move on if he struggles at all.

Luckily for the Dolphins in this scenario, next year’s crop of pass throwers promises to be far better than what we saw in 2022.

There seems to be a definitive top-2 in C.J. Stroud (Ohio State) and Bryce Young (Alabama), but the second and third tier prospects are also potential first round picks. Names like Spencer Rattler, Anthony Richardson, and Jake Haener will be worth taking a look at as well if Miami ends up being in the market for a quarterback.

Draft order is of course many months away from being decided, and we don’t know exactly what the Dolphins picks will be worth. But having two first rounders to be able to package should be enough to be able to move up and select essentially any player they want.

Let’s just hope they don’t need a quarterback.
