Adding Sony Michel means everyone else will have a better chance of staying healthy longer which is huge

Quick math here but the more people you have that can do something the fewer times everyone will have to do that one thing. I’m pretty sure that makes sense.

Adding Sony Michel means that Chase Edmonds, a guy who got hurt last year, Raheem Mostert a guy who tears his ACL every year, Myles Gaskin a guy who got hurt last year, and Salvon Ahmed a guy who got hurt last year, will have less chance of getting hurt. That’s a good thing for the team.

The running back position is one where you need as many able bodies guys as you can. Let’s face it, even with the addition of Sony Michel do we really think that the team won’t sign another back or elevate one from the practice squad at some point? The smart money is that is exactly what will happen. It’s just the reality of the position.

On May 10th, you would think that the opening day running backs will be Michel, Edmonds, and either Gaskin or Ahmed. If Raheem Mostert can show that he is as healthy as he can be and shows that he still has it then maybe he’s in there as well. The point is you need as many as you can bring to a game and you need guys who won’t be making the games but are there just in case.
