Miami Dolphins road trip #3:

@ New York Jets – October 9th 1pm local

This road trip wouldn’t be for the city, though New Jersey is…fine. It wouldn’t be for the stadium, though MetLife is…fine. And it certainly wouldn’t be to see the talents of the opposing team, because the Jets are bottom feeders.

Traveling to New York for the game on October 8th would be to take part in the MetLife Takeover, a collection of Dolphins fans who gather every year and take up a huge section of the parking lot for a tailgate and portions of the stadium during the game.

The tradition has been going strong for many years now, as over a thousand fans now flock to The Meadowlands and root for their team as they take on the lowly home squad. The tailgate and cookouts are epic, and the weather should be good enough to not need your Dolphins ski coats this year.

The game will take place on October 9th, and could be something of a rebound game for Miami. The first four games of the Dolphins’ schedule could end up being rough, but they will follow them with a stretch that could help them get back on their feet, should they falter early on.

The match up with the Jets will be a must-win regardless, as the Dolphins will fly home for two tough but winnable games against the Vikings and Steelers.
