Miami Dolphins Must Win Game #1:

Week 5 – Sunday, Oct. 9th – Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets

Let’s face it: the Dolphins are a class above the Jets and shouldn’t be losing to them at all this season. Miami is 8-1 against New York over their last nine meetings, with the one loss coming by just a single point. Look for the Dolphins to continue this streak in 2022.

The two teams will meet in weeks 5 and 18 this coming season, and both will be important for the Dolphins if they are hoping to make the playoffs. But if Miami lives up to the expectations of being one of the most talented teams in the league on both sides of the ball, then the game on January 8th in Miami might not even matter.

Their first match up will be the first game after a rough stretch of games to start the season. If things go poorly for the Dolphins in September, there will be a lot of eyes on the October 8th game in New York in hopes that it will help them right the ship. Losing this game could (and probably would) force Miami in to an unneeded and concerning tailspin.

This Week 5 match up will be the first divisional game of the season for the Jets, but will already be Miami’s third after playing host to both the Patriots and Bills early on. The Dolphins will be on extended rest after playing the Bengals on Thursday Night Football the week prior.
