Miami Dolphins Must Win Game #2:

Week 1 – Sunday, September 11th – New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins

There can’t be such thing as a must-win game for the first week of the season, can there?

While it is important for most teams to start the season strong by getting a victory in Week 1, it is almost imperative for the Miami Dolphins in 2022. Before their schedule opens up a bit in October and November, their batch of early games loom tough on paper.

In weeks 2 through 4, they’ll play against the Ravens, Bills, and Bengals, with just one of those contests coming at home. One of those teams is a Super Bowl favorite, the other just played in the Super Bowl, and the third has been dominant in their recent history with the Dolphins. But before they meet with those power houses, they’ll have a date with a familiar foe during Kickoff Weekend.

The Dolphins will open at home this coming season, and they’ll do so against the New England Patriots. While the team will be under a new regime, it is worth noting that Miami has won 4 of the last 5 match ups between the two, and Bill Belichick’s team didn’t do anything to vastly improve its roster this offseason.

Miami has already opened as slight 3-point favorites in early Vegas spreads, though some of that could be contributed to home field advantage. The experts are saying that this game is essentially a toss up, which doesn’t bode well for a Dolphins team looking to finish with a better record than New England for the first time in a decade and a half.
