Former Miami Dolphins player #3: Jacoby Brissett

He didn’t do a whole lot for the Dolphins, and it would probably be beneficial to both parties if we just pretend the union never happened.

Jacoby Brissett was signed during the 2021 offseason with the specific designation of being the backup to Tua Tagovailoa, but he was thrust in to the starting lineup in just the second game of the season following an injury to the starter. His performance was below average, at very best.

While his five-game numbers are respectable (1,100+ yards, 5 TDs, 4 INTs, 2-3 record) but Brissett completely failed the eye test. His motions were best described as “lumbering”, and the offense seemed to be at its most stagnant when he was the signal caller.

He only lasted one season in Miami, and has now moved on to “greener” pastures. Brissett will once again be listed as the #2 quarterback on the depth chart, but this time it will be behind Deshaun Watson for the Cleveland Browns. But depending on Watson’s legal proceedings and the possibility that he faces a suspension, Brissett could end up starting nearly half of Cleveland’s games in 2021.

The Dolphins will play against the Browns in Miami on November 13th.
