The twilight zone of NFL QBs!

The quarterbacks in this tier are the biggest unknowns in the league, whether it was sitting behind Jimmy G like Trey Lance, manning a rebuilding roster from day 1 like Zach Wilson, or dealing with a coach who wants to trade you like Tua Tagovailoa. None of these guys have gotten a fair chance.

But the thing with the NFL is that it doesn’t owe you a fair chance, and we’ve seen it happen time and time again, players who didn’t live up to expectations get lost in the void never to be seen again. Fortunately, all the QBs I mentioned have big-time support now.

But none of this guarantees anything, these guys could end up being busts, disappointments, average, above average, or all-time great.

The biggest question mark in this tier is the Miami dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa, the team went all-in to get him the help he so desperately needed, but the trade-off brings the expectation to win big and wins now.

Quarterback tier? – The Unknowns:

  • Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Trey Lance – San Francisco 49ers
  • Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins
  • Davis Mills – Houston Texans
  • Zach Wilson – New York Jets

Will these players rise to the occasion or fold under pressure, this is it for many players on this list. Tua Tagovailoa has the most pressure on this list, but he also has the most weapons at his disposal.

Trey Lance is also on the hot seat and if Davis Mills doesn’t show franchise by thanksgiving he might be looked at as a placeholder for the next QB in Houston. Trevor Lawrence had a very slow start but could improve with a new coaching staff and an improved roster in a weak division.
