The three biggest question for the Miami Dolphins in 2022
By Brian Miller
Mike McDaniel has as many questions surrounding him and the Miami Dolphins as any singular position.
Stephen Ross and the Miami Dolphins are banking on Mike McDaniel. It is a trend that has not worked out well for Ross since he became the owner of the team. Ross has a bad habit of hiring coaches with no head coaching experience.
- Brian Flores
- Adam Gase
- Joe Philbin
- Retaining Tony Sparano for another season.
- Mike McDaniel
McDaniel not only has no HC experience he also has not called plays despite being the OC in San Francisco. That may or may not matter but his inexperience is a reason to pause. More interesting is the fact that of all the NFL teams looking for a new head coach this off-season, no one but the Dolphins interviewed McDaniel.
What did Stephen Ross see in McDaniel that other teams did not? It’s a good question to ask. Maybe Ross gets this one right.
McDaniel has made a lot of fans in his short time in South Florida already. The players love him and the fans do as well. His presence has really brought the excitement level to, well, a new level.
Now, with training camp up next and then pre-season and then the regular season, McDaniel is going to have his hands full. There will be a learning curve and he will make mistakes as all coaches do but can he keep them limited to the point it doesn’t hurt the team’s win/loss totals.
Those are the biggest questions entering the 2022 season and hopefully, we get answers that will bring a successful season.
