Miami Dolphins: Way-Too-Early 2023 NFL Mock Draft
By Pablo Rosero
South Carolina defensive tackle Zacch Pickens opted out of the 2022 NFL draft and returned to school for his final collegiate season. He currently falls in a similar place he would have in the 2022 NFL draft.
The Dolphins are set to, hopefully, pay Christian Wilkins to continue to anchor their defensive line alongside Raekwon Davis and Zach Sieler. Adding Pickens would give the Dolphins another defensive player that can give an immediate impact. If the Dolphins do choose to not bring back Wilkins, Pickens gives them a cheaper alternative.
Pickens played alongside former San Francisco 49ers first-round pick defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, a player that head coach Mike McDaniel has plenty of experience with.
A former five-star and top recruit coming out of high school have been pushed down the depth chart due to the immense talent at wide receiver that has preceded him at Ohio State. Three of his former teammates were taken with back-to-back-to-back picks and then Jaxon Smith-Njigba should land within the top-10 of the 2023 NFL draft class.
The Dolphins have one of the better wide receiver rooms in the NFL, on paper, right now. However, outside of Hill, Waddle, and Wilson, the Dolphins lack wide receiver depth. Adding Fleming gives the team another option for Tagovailoa to target.
