#4 most important Miami Dolphins player: Jerome Baker

Surprised to see him this high? It isn’t crazy to have doubts about the Dolphins’ defense going into 2022, and the linebacking unit is the one with the most question marks.

The obvious leader of the group and only non-rookie under contract past this season, Jerome Baker has already solidified himself as a piece for the future for Miami. But he’ll likely have to play good-to-great football consistently to make up for any shortcomings his fellow linebackers may have.

He has the ability to do so, as he was named the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Month in December of last season during the Dolphins’ impressive winning streak. Look for him to continue that upward trajectory in 2022. If he doesn’t, the defense could be in some trouble.

#3: Tyreek Hill

This ranking may be a little high for a skill position player like a wide receiver, but given the hoopla around him and Tagovailoa this offseason, having Tyreek Hill perform up to his usual standard will be important for him in Miami.

He represents the biggest acquisition for the Dolphins in recent memory and is arguably still one of the most talented players in the entire league. Hill has plenty of years ahead of him to prove his worth in Miami, but 2022 is a huge year for growth for a team with a first-year head coach and a quarterback doing everything he can to prove himself.

Hill has the ability to change games with his playmaking and explosiveness, and the Dolphins will need every ounce of that during the coming season.
