Miami Dolphins player under pressure #3: Tyreek Hill

How can a bona fide superstar player with one of the heftiest contracts in the league be under any kind of pressure?

Tyreek Hill will undoubtedly be a member of the Miami Dolphins past the 2022 season, unlike the other members of our list. But given the storylines and media coverage that has been following him all offseason, there is reason to believe that he is feeling pressure to perform and perform well, for his new team.

The Dolphins are expecting big things from Hill. The team traded away some serious draft capital in order to acquire him and gave him what is currently the richest deal that a wide receiver has ever signed. In turn, the media has taken notice of his situation, and have integrated him into the usual Dolphins bashing that takes place this time of year.

There are videos of underthrown balls from Tua Tagovailoa. There is the idea that he will not be nearly the same weapon without Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball. There are even the Chiefs fans that flood the mentions under every one of Hill’s tweets, saying that he has lost a step and will never be the same player.

The negative attention is unlike any on-field criticism and doubt that has surrounded Hill at any point in his career. While he likely won’t say it publicly, there is good reason to believe that he will be doing everything he can to prove all of the talking heads wrong and that in itself would create a reasonable amount of pressure.
