Miami Dolphins embarrassing moment #3: Bills Game

It was perhaps the most important game of Brian Flores’ tenure as the coach of the Miami Dolphins, but it ended up being one of the most embarrassing results.

In his second year at the helm, Flores led the 2020 Dolphins team to an impressive 10-5 record before heading into the final week of the season. Waiting for them was a date with the division rival Buffalo Bills, on what promised to be a chilly day in Orchard Park, New York.

Miami was in an unfamiliar position. They faced a win-and-you’re-in scenario, being in control of their own destiny in Week 17, something that doesn’t happen very often to the franchise. But the hype didn’t last long. The Dolphins fell completely flat on their faces, trailing 28-6 at halftime and ultimately losing the game by a score of 56-26.

The best part? Bills starting quarterback Josh Allen was benched at half-time in favor of Matt Barkley, who threw for 164 yards to go along with Allen’s 224. Miami’s defense gave up as many points to Barkley in the second half as they did to an MVP candidate in the first.

It was an ugly and embarrassing way to end what otherwise looked to be a promising season.
