Miami Dolphins’ important non-starter: Teddy Bridgewater

It is no secret that the position of a backup quarterback is an important one for the Miami Dolphins. Starter Tua Tagovailoa has an almost-infamous injury history, and counting on him to be available for all 17 games would be foolish by the front office.

Jacoby Brissett played a big role in Miami’s offense in 2021, and the results were below average at their very best.

They’ll instead bring in Teddy Bridgewater in 2022. The veteran signal-caller has plenty of experience as a starter and should be able to produce better results than Brissett should his number be called upon.

There are some who believe that Bridgewater is the most talented quarterback on the roster and even a few more who believe that he’ll be the full-time starter at some point during the season. It would certainly behoove the Dolphins to have Tagovailoa live up to the expectations placed on him this coming season, but they have an able-bodied backup if things go awry.
