A way too early full first round 2023 NFL Mock Draft

While I can see the Texans pondering over the possible idea of Bryce Young, they are in a big rebuild and can trust a very good QB to still be there when they pick again at #18. They go with the best defensive player in the draft.
Anderson is drawing comparisons to a guy like Micah Parsons, and with an opportunity for a franchise guy at that position, you have to think many times before passing on him. They do not pass here.
Detroit rejoices, you have a new franchise QB. This pick feels safer with the ability for Detroit to sit back and watch where Atlanta and Houston decided to go. I think Bryce Young might be on top of Detroit’s board anyway, however, Young and Stroud seem to be the 2 “safe” QB picks in this draft.
It would be hard to disagree that the reigning Heisman winner will not go #1 overall, but Stroud’s size and intangibles are too much to pass on. Detroit walks away with the guy they want at #3.
This feels like the right move to be Russell Wilson’s replacement of the future. As I spoke about earlier, this QB class feels uniquely deep, but I think Van Dyke is the guy who Seattle can use the most right now.
Accuracy, precision, and awareness in the pocket are huge for Van Dyke and he will give a chance for DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett to be explosive and hit them in stride.
This would give the offensive line their last real anchor before we call them a young promising offensive line. The Jets are very close, and with the young talent they are adding around the outside for Zach Wilson, they decide here at 5 to try and make sure he is protected.
Though Paris Johnson played extremely well at guard last season, this year he is going to play at LT and protect CJ Stroud’s blindside, and will likely play guard in the NFL as well.
Much was made about the Georgia defense this past season, and rightfully so, as they took over the draft. However, Carter is widely considered to be the most exciting prospect of all of them. What a steal it could be for Jacksonville to grab 2 of the biggest threats from the Bulldog’s defense in back-to-back years.
At 6’3 210 Carter is a big boy who can play in any scheme and be a game-wrecker. He will be a beast right in the middle of the Jaguar’s defense.
I think Will Levis is one of the most intriguing prospects from this draft class. I think he gets to go to a spot here with a big opportunity. A good group of weapons all around him, a nice offensive line to protect him, but a coach who has not been able to get it done, and a QB room that is becoming a dumpster fire.
Levis will get his chance, and likely if things fail in year 1 he will have a tough break dealing with a new system in his first few years as an NFL QB. Which Miami Dolphins fans know far too well, is not a good strategy for a young QB.
Boutte is going to quickly turn into the premier deep threat of this year’s class. His coming-out party to college football was in the final game of his freshman season against Ole Miss when he put up a video game-like stat line of 14 catches for 308 yards and 3 TDs.
He had an ankle injury 6 games into the 2021 season and will bounce back and become part of the elite LSU WR class that has recently joined the league.
