#3: 2011 Brandon Marshall – 81 catches, 1,214 yards, 6 touchdowns

Another wide receiver who arrived in Miami to fanfare and high expectations but was unable to live up to them, Brandon Marshall’s time with the Dolphins maybe even a bit underrated after all these years.

The 2011 Miami Dolphins were not impressive. Despite one of the few 1,000-yard rushing seasons in recent franchise history accomplished by Reggie Bush, the team lost the first seven games on the schedule. Things picked up on the back end, but they finished 6-10 and tied for last place in the AFC East.

Brandon Marshall had himself quite the season, however. With Matt Moore and Chad Henne as his quarterbacks, Marshall gained 1214 receiving yards, a number that remains as the 5th best in team history behind Mark Clayton, Mark Duper (2), and Irving Fryar. His yardage total would have been better than 10th in the league if it weren’t for the monster seasons from other players around the league.

The 6 touchdowns is a number that could have been higher, and a couple of more scores would have vaulted Marshall’s 2011 season as the best one by a Dolphins receiver since 2000.
