Miami Dolphins: Top 5 games of Ricky Williams’ career
#1 game of Ricky Williams’ Miami Dolphins career:
December 1st, 2002 @ Bills – 27 carries, 228 yards, 2 touchdowns, 8.44YPC
Not only did the stats pop off of the page, but it was the conditions in which he achieved those numbers that make this the undisputed best game of Ricky Williams’ career with the Dolphins.
Before the December 1st game against the Buffalo Bills during Week 13 of the 2002 season, Williams made a claim that not only had he never played in snow before, but he had never even seen the white stuff in person. That didn’t stop him from having the best yardage day of his career in the adverse conditions in Orchard Park, New York.
Williams rushed for 228 yards that day, easily his career-high. He added two touchdowns to go along with his God-like 8.44 yards per attempt. Running on a wet, snow-covered field would prove to be difficult even for the most seasoned of weather warriors, but it was no problem for Ricky on that day.
The rest of the team was dismal. The defense allowed 38 total points, including back-to-back touchdowns of 73 and 57 yards within three minutes of each other. Drew Bledsoe threw for 306 yards and three scores for the Bills, while two Dolphins quarterbacks combined for 65 total yards on 20 attempts.
Despite Williams’ career day, Miami managed to score just 21 points.
