Miami Dolphins veteran under pressure: Preston Williams

One of the focal points of the off-season plan for the Dolphins was the wide receiver position, and they now have one of the top units in the entire league thanks to their acquisitions. They will be one of the deepest parts of the team, and the coaching staff will have a good crop of players to choose from when cuts come around.

But with a deep unit comes pressure for fringe guys to perform, and there are starting spots to be won over during training camp by way of position battles between guys like Erik Ezukanma and Cedrick Wilson Jr. There is a returning player that will be facing more depth chart pressure than the newcomers, and that is Preston Williams.

Williams has been on Miami’s roster for a handful of years now, and he has shown flashes of the talent that could make him a solid #2 receiver in the NFL. But through injuries and under performances, he has never fully lived up to the expectations that we set for him after seeing his skill set.

He will be under pressure to outperform at least half of the rest of the wide receivers in order to secure a spot as the third or fourth player on the depth chart, and he will be one of the most-watched players for the duration of training camp.
