The Tua Tagovailoa effect:

But during this same year, Belichick wasn’t only looking over his shoulder to see what Brady was doing, there was a serious problem brewing within the division for the Patriots.

You can think what you want about Tua Tagovailoa, I am not the biggest fan. But one thing he has done consistently is put his foot down on the Patriots’ neck, going into 2020 Bill Belichick had a win/loss record of 22-5 versus rookie QBs.

That record turned to 22-6 after facing Tua Tagovailoa for the first time, and up until now, Tua has racked up an undefeated record of 3 wins and zero losses to Bill Belichick, the man that makes young QBs crack and folds under pressure.

Even if you don’t like Tua he’s giving huge problems to a big division rival that Miami has to see twice a year. Bill Belichick has crushed some of the most prominent QB names in NFL history, so to see QB like Tua give Belichick such a headache is quite the sight.

Miami has always given New England problems, but “problems” are classified as splitting the series with the Dolphins. In the past every year the Patriots were supposed to sweep the Dolphins.

The Miami Dolphins are undefeated versus the New England Patriots when Tua Tagovailoa is under center, and with a home game coming to Miami this September I doubt that status will change any time soon.
