Miami Dolphins tackles leader: Jerome Baker – 98 tackles

Jerome Baker has been the leader in tackles for the Miami Dolphins in each of the past three seasons. He was the overwhelming leader in 2019 and 2020 when he had a total of 238 tackles between the two seasons, which earned him a new contract as one of the linebackers of the future for the franchise.

But Baker was challenged in 2021 for his spot atop the team’s leaderboard. Defensive lineman Christian Wilkins finished with just three combined tackles less than Baker, whose 92 were the lowest since his rookie season nearly five years ago.

It was a career year for Wilkins, as he led all interior defensive lineman in total tackles. He figures to be an even bigger presence for the team for the coming campaign as he looks for an even further increase in personal usage and snap counts. He was one of the most productive players on the Dolphins’ defense when examining the 2021 season.

So what will 2022 bring? Will there be a new name atop the leader board? If last year was any indication, then we could have the first tackles leader not named Jerome Baker since Kiko Alonso was the leader back in 2018.
