Miami Dolphins: 3 bold predictions for the running backs in ’22
Miami Dolphins running back prediction #3: Top 10 rushing offense
It has been over five years since the 2016 season, in which the Dolphins ranked 9th in the league in rushing yards, mainly behind the efforts of Jay Ajayi and his career season. The running game had been putrid for many years before that, and has been even worse since.
But with the new regime in town and the focus on the running game with McDaniel having come from the Shanahan coaching tree, we should see a serious uptick in rushing yards from Miami in 2022. The revamped offensive line and acquisition of a veteran running back stable will certainly aid the process, but the new schemes and system will be the real difference maker.
It has proved to work in the past. With McDaniel as an offensive assistant and coordinator, the 49ers finished with a top-10 rushing attack in two of the last three seasons, including a second-place finish in 2019 on their way to the Super Bowl.
All signs point to a vastly improved rushing attack for the coming season, and we’re predicting a top-10 finish for the Dolphins in the rushing yards department.
