The Miami Dolphins have a number of star veteran players that I’d be quite fine with if they didn’t play.

There are a few players that I would rather not see out there. Those players include Xavien Howard, Terron Armstead, and Tyreek Hill. Other players that I also wouldn’t hate not seeing out there is Jaylen Waddle, Jerome Baker, and Christian Wilkins. The first trio of guys know what they’re doing and are far too valuable.

This isn’t to say that Jaylen Waddle isn’t valuable, he is. But he can do well to get a series or two. Baker and Wilkins are veterans, they know what’s going on, and there are young guys behind them that the staff needs to see more of.

If they all end up playing, which I highly doubt, I’m not going to be beside myself or anything like that.

All these guys got plenty of work in the joint practices which honestly is more valuable than the preseason games. In the joint practices, you can put the team into any situation you want with the idea of seeing certain guys in certain situations. In the game, no situation is guaranteed. A corner may not ever get targeted in a game but in a practice, he surely will.

I’m all for all of these guys getting some live reps in an actual preseason game, but not this one. Go with next week’s game and then sit everyone in the last one. That’s how I’d play it if I were the coach.
