I want to see everything that Mike McDaniel does.

I mean this literally. I want to see how he calls plays. I want to see his demeanor on the sideline. I want to see how he interacts with the young guys when they make a mistake. I want to see how his clock management is.

There was a moment the other day on Wednesday in the practice with Tampa Bay where the Miami Dolphins were orchestrating a two-minute drill. During that situation towards the end of it, McDaniel ran the ball with the clock running and rushed his FG team out. The kick was good but the time expired.

Now, do I really care about such things? Not at all. Why? Because I know Mike McD knows about time and how it works.

Also, this is his very first time being the guy who handles that. It’s only natural that he learns from his mistakes and I think learning from mistakes is something he takes very seriously. I wouldn’t imagine something like that happening again. But still, I want to see how handles the end of the half.

I also hope he’s mic’d up because I’m sure it will be comedy gold.
