The offensive was the weakest unit last year and even this year it’s still one of the weakest on the team. It would be nice to see them not get destroyed.

The season doesn’t solely come down to whether or not the offensive line improves from last year, which based on how historically bad they were, has to improve. But if they don’t give Tua time to find these incredible receivers, then nothing matters and were stuck with the defense trying to win every game again.

Based on the reports of the last two weeks, especially the last practices with Tampa Bay, the offensive line wasn’t terrific but they weren’t getting their asses kicked either. That’s a win.

Ideally, I’d like to see all of the starting offensive linemen, minus Terron Armstead, play about a quarter or so. They need a good amount of work so that they can absorb the new offensive system and get on the same page.

I can’t be more serious when I say that the cohesion and learning curve with the offensive line will make or break many games this year. It needs to happen and it needs to happen as fast as possible.

Hopefully, they go out there against a stout Tampa Bay line and keep the pocket clean for the quarterbacks and open up a few holes for the running backs. That would be nice.

Enjoy the game if you get to watch it. I think the replay of it will be Sunday morning on NFL Network but don’t quote me on that. Tether your expectations but also have standards with the team right now. There’s plenty of time to crush them later in the season when the games count.
